Oquirrh Mountain Temple

This is our new Temple. This is where we get to go from now on for all our ward temple nights. The Stake President says they will still let us come to SL for stake temple night. (yeah!) Because the chapel here only seats forty.
Did I mention that I get to sing at (nearly) the top of my lungs here - inside - in the Celestial Room - Twice. Once on Wednesday for a dress rehearsal and again during the Saturday afternoon Dedication session. I'm so overwhelmed with excitement. I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve. The anticipation is so (what's another word for overwhelming).

Cheezers

Who taught that girl how to do that?

Rub-A-Dub

Gabi and Tilda in the tub tonight. Tiff doen'st think that they look like sisters. I see a lot of similarities in their nose, chin, mouth areas... Tilda just needs a neck and some crazy hair. They look like they are about the same size already.

It's all about the Ureter.

Kidney stones are hard, crystalline mineral material (calcium) formed within the kidney.

They generally cause no pain while in the kidney, but as they move from the kidney through the Ureter on their way to the bladder, they are likely to cause severe pain. (let's be honest, severe is much to mild - excruciating is more accurate).

Once they reach the bladder, the path is much larger and comparably pain free from there on out.

A guy in Hungary had a stone removed this year that measured 6" in diameter. I guess my 1/8" stone wasn't so bad. Then again - he didn't have to 'pass' his. They just cut it out of him.

We Have Stone!

The wait is over. The kidney stone is here. Not as big as it felt passing from my kidney to my bladder. Here is Stone #2 (June 2005) on the Left and Stone #3 (today) on the right. Fairly close in size, but #3 has that wicked point on the side. It passed a little faster than #2 if I remember right, but I probably don't. That's the sort of pain one WANTS to forget.
Stone #1 came and went without being noticed. The doctor mis-diagnosed it, so I wasn't looking for it to exit. It happened in the winter of 1999. #2 was summer of 2005 (5.5 yrs later) #3 was Today (4 yrs later). So stay tuned... If i stay on this schedule, winter of 2012 I should be due for another.

The Craft Shack

Tiff snapped this pic of her Crafting area (yet to be named) and left the pic on the camera memory card - so, I'm swiping it for the blog.

The cabinets came with the house (although they were in the laundry room ?!?) We moved them upstairs and I built the shiny shiny desktop and the tower to the left to fill in the gaps. Turned out very sturdy.

You can't see them very well in the picture, but i installed two outlets on the back of the workspace for her to plug in her crafting tools (very convenient).

My First CheeseCake

How's that for a first attempt? I'll tell you how it is - it is delicious!
Too rich though to eat alone, and Tiff won't touch it. Good thing Emmi and Oskar come around now and then:)

I didn't let the creamcheese soften long enough (too excited to wait), so you'll see a few irregular 'bumpity' things on there, but I swear (and Emmi backs me up) you can't taste 'em at all.

Not quite as good as the "Cheesecake Factory" slice Emmi and I had the other day, but a very fine first attempt!

If a Fire Work Exploded in my Brain... What Might it Look Like?

Ka-BOOM!

The Long and Short of It

Abigail Beata

Gabi too.

Mathilda Hirschi

Great shot of Tillie tonight.

Gabi's New Bed

Hurried to get the wheels on and in the house before bed time. Gabi freaked out and refused to go near the new bed. We had to pull the matress back out of the bed and place it on the floor again before she would go to bed. We'll have to leave the bed in there and place the matress in it every chance she will let us - to acclamate her to the way things are to be.

Here is the inspiration for Gabi's bed - pretty close I think.

Gabi's New Bed

Gabi's new bed. Just needs a couple coats of polyurethane to finish it off. Then I can add the wheels (for easy moving) and she'll be able to make it through the night ON her matress :)

Monitor Stand

Built a new monitor stand for my dual monitor set-up at the office. Looks pretty good, I just hope I estimated the dimensions close enough.

Monitor stand in action. Looks like I guessed pretty well.
